Another railway route has been launched
from China to the European market via Azerbaijan and Georgia on the Middle
Corridor. In particular, another block train was loaded in two large cities in
western China, Chengdu and Chongqing, and on July 9, it headed for Kazakhstan
via the Khorgos terminal in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
The train will continue its movement along
the Middle Corridor and deliver goods to European countries via the Caspian
Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. The train is loaded with communication
equipment, auto parts and other products.
The train is expected to deliver cargo to
Baku 30 days faster than the traditional sea route. Part of the cargo will be
sent from Baku to Georgia, Turkey and Serbia.
It is worth noting that this is the second
train in the last 10 days that has departed from China along the Middle
Corridor route to Europe. In particular, on June 30, the first train on the new
line departed from the station in Beijing's Fangshan district through the same
Khorgos checkpoint to the Kazakh port of Aktau, consisting of 104 standard
containers loaded with auto parts and mechanical equipment. The cargo is worth
more than 15 million yuan, or approximately 2.093 million dollars.
This cargo will enter the Alyat port of
Azerbaijan by sea and be transported by rail to Baku. After arriving in Baku,
part of the containers will be redirected to Georgia, Turkey, Serbia and other
countries in the region. The total length exceeds 8,000 km, and the train
should arrive in Baku 15 days after departure, that is, in the middle of this
month.
The route will be implemented using a multimodal scheme, “rail-sea-rail”.
