Germany to resume gas imports via pipeline, but not from Russia, but from Azerbaijan

German state-owned company SEFE has signed a 10-year contract with Azerbaijan's state oil and gas company SOCAR to supply natural gas, the SEFE press service said on Tuesday.

The imports amount to 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year, which is more than 1.7% of Germany's annual consumption.

Azerbaijan already supplies gas to Georgia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Italy, Romania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Croatia.
