Kars - Erzurum Tourist Railway Route

The first tourist express train on the Kars-Erzurum route run in January 2023. The new railway route was launched in order to stimulate tourism in Anatolia, which was driven by the growing interest in the tourist "Eastern Express" between Ankara and Kars. The Ankara-Kars Express has been running for several years.

The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is confident that the Kars-Erzurum Tourist Express will also meet the growing demand for travel during the winter season.

The train will depart from Kars at 07:20 local time and arrive in Erzurum at 11:10, and will depart from Erzurum at 14:55 and arrive in Kars at 18:45. The express train will stop only at the station in the village of Sarikamish in the Kars region on the route.

The tourist express is designed for 234 passengers, and tickets can be purchased online, via mobile applications and at the ticket offices of railway stations.
