Kazakhstan plans to open a new trade route to Turkey via Armenia

Kazakhstan plans to open a new trade route to Turkey via Armenia, Kazakh Economy Minister Serik Zhumangarin said.

According to a Kazakh government spokesman, the route through Armenia will give Astana direct access to Turkish ports.

"Currently, we are going through Azerbaijan to the Black Sea ports of Georgia. The new route will allow us to reach Nakhichevan and then directly to Turkey, to its seaports," Zhumangarin noted.
