
Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia have signed
a memorandum of understanding on organizing cargo transportation via the
Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
Azerbaijani media reported this, citing
Ravshan Rustamov, head of Azerbaijan Railways.
“Within the framework of the VII
International Transport and Logistics Business Forum New Silk Way, which is
taking place in Kazakhstan, we signed a memorandum of understanding “On Cargo
Transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway” with the heads of the Turkish
and Georgian railways. The document outlines the steps to be taken jointly for
the development of a faster, sustainable and at the same time competitive
transport line of the BTK.
"Our main goal is to establish stable and predictable work on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, improve conditions for freight carriers and increase the volume of transportation," the head of Azerbaijan Railways said.
