
2,000 truck trailers enter the Georgian
transport corridor daily. 2/3 of these trailers enter the country for transit
purposes, and one-third are ultimately destined for Georgia.
Georgia has the closest trade relations
with Turkey, therefore, the busiest customs checkpoint in Georgia is Sarpi,
which is crossed by 660 trailers per day in the direction of Georgia, and 450
trailers are transferred from Georgia to Turkey per day.
According to the dynamics of 2025, the number of transit trailers has decreased by 6%. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has currently published figures for the first quarter of 2025 on the number of trailers entering and leaving Georgia. According to which, the second busiest border after Sarpi customs is Kazbegi, from which an average of 400 trucks enter per day.
