"In order to increase the transit potential, the construction of an optical cable has begun on the bottom of the Caspian Sea to the Republic of Azerbaijan. The project is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of this year," Madiev noted.

According to the information, marine geological and engineering research works in the Caspian Sea began in August 2025.

The total length of the cable to be laid will be 391 kilometers. The maximum throughput of the line created within the project will be 400 terabits per second. This infrastructure will play a significant role in strengthening digital connections along the “Middle Corridor”.
