The planned railway project in the Black Sea direction will fundamentally change the transportation map of the region. The high-speed train line from Samsun to Sarpi will connect the cities on the Black Sea coast and at the same time create an integrated transportation network with Inner Anatolia.
Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made his evaluations regarding the planned railway project in the Black Sea direction at the TOKİ residential building voting ceremony held in Trabzon. Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that the Samsun-Trabzon-Sarpi High-Speed Railway Project is a step of historic importance for the Black Sea region.
Continuous railway line along the Black Sea
According to the information provided by Minister Uraloğlu, the high-speed train line starting from Samsun will run along the Black Sea coast and will include Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize and Artvin. After the completion of the project, the Black Sea cities, which have been without railway connections for many years, will receive a modern and high-capacity high-speed rail network for the first time.
Integration with Inner Anatolia
Uraloğlu noted that the railway project planned for the Black Sea direction will be integrated with the Ankara-Kırıkkale-Çorum-Samsun high-speed rail line. He also reminded that construction work on the 120-kilometer section between the Delice district of Kirikkale and Çorum has already started in recent months. As a result of this integration, a direct and fast railway connection will be established between the Black Sea region and Inner Anatolia.
Ankara-Trabzon to be reduced to 4.5 hours
Uraloglu noted that after the completion of the projects, the travel time between Trabzon and Ankara will be reduced to 4.5 hours. According to him, the railway will not only speed up transportation, but will also make a significant contribution to the development of the region's trade, tourism and economic potential.
Protocol message in Trabzon
At the beginning of his speech, Uraloğlu
congratulated the newly appointed Trabzon Governor Tahir Şahin on his
appointment and also thanked the previous Governor Aziz Yıldırım, whose term of
office has ended. Minister Uraloğlu noted that transportation investments in
the Black Sea direction will continue to increase in the future.
