Georgia's steadfast geopolitical friends
are the countries of Eastern Europe from the Black Sea to the Baltic Sea. But
for the last five centuries, the Muscovite Empire dominated Eastern Europe, and
we were equally in dire straits.
We betrayed Eastern Europe greatly with the
defeat of Krtsanisi in 1795. As a result, the "Rech Pospolita"
(Polish Commonwealth), the protectorate of Eastern Europe, collapsed, and
Muscovy then completely took possession of Eastern Europe.
The history of Poland, which has suffered
many times, has been divided and redrawn borders, is a vivid example of the
struggle for Muscovite influence in Eastern Europe.
When Moscow controlled even one link in the
chain of countries from the Baltic to the Black Sea, the entire axis of Eastern
Europe was blocked.
The Eastern Partnership means the complete
liberation of Eastern Europe and the restoration of the Silk Road. It also
means the economic, political and geopolitical independence of the countries of
Eastern Europe.
The axis of countries from the Baltic to
the Black Sea becomes the leading geopolitical power of the continent. Such a
thing did not exist even during the time of the Great David, when Georgia was
the gateway to the Silk Road. This is possible in today's free market
democratic Europe.
Moscow is waging war in Ukraine precisely
to restore its influence in Eastern Europe, without which this empire simply
cannot exist and will lose all the other captured lands. The Muscovite empire
lives by controlling the trade routes.
The liberation of the countries of Eastern
Europe is the most important issue for Europe, and every Georgian should
support Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Moldova, Azerbaijan,
Armenia and the liberation of Belarus is also in our national interest.
There has never been such a united Europe
under the auspices of Great Britain, and the existential issue of a united
Europe is the liberation of Eastern Europe.
The geopolitical independence and freedom of Eastern and Western Europe depend on the protection and victory of Ukraine. Against this background, we must understand how harmful Trump's policy is, which is trying to return the criminal Putin to the field of global politics. The very fact of Trump's meeting with Putin is already a political victory for Moscow and pits Trump's America against the civilized world. But we must also understand that Trump and Putin cannot solve anything without Europe.
