According to the Turkish Ministry of
Transport and Infrastructure, new procedures for inspecting international road
transport on the territory of Turkey have come into effect from October 2025.
While until now, the control of foreign carriers – including permits, ECMT licenses and other accompanying documents – was mainly carried out at border checkpoints, the new regulations will also allow inspections on roads in Turkey, and administrative fines are provided for any violations detected. The aim of introducing the new regulatory mechanism is to relieve queues at borders, speed up procedures and ensure compliance with international transport regulations.
