The August 2008 war was truly a shock to
the global order. "Five days that shook the world."
The point is that after the collapse of the
Soviet Union, the geopolitical guarantors of peace on our continent became the
European Union and Moscow. Even after the USSR, Moscow remained a pole.
This geopolitical concept was based on the
idea of Schmidt, a disciple of Hitler's geopolitical Haushofer, and Moscow
and a united Germany became the axis of the Eurasian continent.
That is, the collapse of the USSR did not
cause global and continental geopolitical changes and, moreover, was not a
catastrophe for Moscow. Moscow retained the status of a geopolitical pole and,
together with Europe, was obliged to maintain peace.
Moscow itself violated this order.
It launched a war on Eastern Europe, on
Georgia. It was a geopolitical shock.
Western Europe, geopolitically tied to
Moscow (gas, oil, Russian market), was not ready for such a scenario.
The presidents of four Eastern European
countries (NATO members), led by Kaczynski, surrounded Georgia and forced us to
defend it. In other words, NATO's Eastern European flank (Lithuania, Latvia,
Estonia, Poland, Ukraine) defended Georgia and Bush had no other choice, he had
to stop the war.
But Moscow still remained a pole and was
"wringing Europe's hands" to recognize Georgia as Moscow's property,
to recognize Sukhumi and Tskhinvali.
In other words, Georgia was geopolitically
vulnerable. The European Union of that time could not take any drastic steps
against Moscow. Angela Merkel was not a Kremlin agent or a corrupt official.
At that time, German business was firmly
"woven" into the Russian market, and German politics could not have
made a sharp turn.
In such a situation, Barack Obama became
the president of the United States.
In 2009, Moscow was preparing for a repeat
of the war. Back then, I wrote in a newspaper article that the probability of
war was about 80%.
In this tense situation, Barack Obama
arrives in Moscow with his family, wife and children.
Putin hosts Obama against the backdrop of a
Russian boot on a "samovar". This was a message - where a Russian
boot stands, that land is Russian.
So Obama "reset" it, said
something that made Putin take his hand to war.
Europe understood perfectly well what Obama
did, and it was precisely because of Moscow's stop that they awarded him the
Nobel Peace Prize.
Believe me, Georgians.
And in 2010, Barack Obama announced a
completely new geopolitical concept, "a multipolar world."
I would like to tell you that no one in
geopolitical science has discussed such a concept. The author is Barack Obama
himself. This is also an exception, since the ruler of a country became the
author of a geopolitical concept.
As a rule, individual specialists in
geopolitics (geopolitics is generally a science of individuals) develop
conceptual ideas, which are then used by the rulers of countries.
Why is Obama's concept unique?
Because since the discovery of America, a
geopolitical era called the "Columbian era" has been established in
global geopolitics.
In the "Columbian Era," the
United States became the global hegemon, the center of geopolitical gravity.
This weakened Europe and, as a result, gave Moscow the geopolitical foundation
to build an empire.
The Moscow Empire is exactly five hundred
years old.
That is, when the Silk Road was closed five
hundred years ago, sea trade developed, which led to the "discovery"
of America, and then the era of Columbus began, and at the same time the
imperialization of the Muscovite kingdom began.
Moscow rose as an empire and was created as
a second center of gravity.
The geopolitical guarantee of the existence
of the Muscovite empire is domination and complete control over Eastern Europe.
Without this, this empire will die.
Accordingly, why did Europe appreciate
Obama's contribution?
Precisely because Obama closed, ended the
"era of Columbus", ended the hegemonic policy of America. And most
importantly, he completely destroyed the geopolitical foundation of the
existence of the Muscovite empire.
This freed Europe from Moscow's
geopolitical pressure
And instantly, in one year, in 2011,
Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt announces a new Eurasian concept:
Eastern Partnership.
That is, Europe begins to restore the Silk
Road, which means the liberation of Eastern Europe from Moscow's clutches and
the death of the Moscow empire.
The Nobel Prize belongs to Sweden. The
peace prize is awarded by Norway.
Who knows, and the Scandinavians know best
what Moscow is and immediately appreciated the contribution of Barack Obama.
Then Obama protected us from Moscow's
aggression twice more. The most important thing was when he did not
"exchange" us in Syria.
Moscow deliberately used chemical weapons
on Assad in Syria. And repeatedly, when the international commission had
already arrived. Moscow's goal was to have American troops enter Syria, and to
counterbalance this, Russian tanks would roll into Georgia.
And then the most important thing happened.
After Brexit, Britain took over Eastern
Europe, and since 2015 we have been a de facto NATO territory. In other words,
Barack Obama "handed us over" to Europe, covered us with the NATO
umbrella. We received visa liberalization. Under Biden, we received candidate
status.
The restoration of the Silk Road is
inevitable.
That is why there are autocrats - Trump,
Putin, Netanyahu, who are exceptionally bitter about Barack Obama.
The liberal globalization policy of the Democrats has returned Georgia to the geopolitical map, where we occupy a phenomenal place.
