From
the economic program of the "Round Table - Free Georgia":
"In order to practically implement
employment of the population in the territory of Georgia and ensure the
corresponding guarantees for citizens, a State Employment Exchange Service of
the Georgian Population should be established, the main duty of which will be
to study the demand and supply of labor, register jobs and citizens who need
labor placement and find them appropriate jobs, register the unemployed,
register them and provide them with cash benefits, etc."
"For the effective functioning of the
economic mechanism of an independent Georgia, the organization of stock and
commodity exchanges, services and securities markets is necessary."
"A free economic system is
characterized by private ownership of the means of production, financial
markets and labor exchanges. These are the main ingredients of a market
economy, the development of which Georgia should strive for first of all."
"Private property should become the
basis of Georgia's economy. Respect for property allows a person to better
understand and fulfill public duties: private property is not only a privilege
for the owner, but also a duty to society."
"After these elements are put into
effect, based on the experience of Georgia and also other countries, the
people, through their elected representatives, will decide how charitable a
state they want in the future and whether they are ready to pay higher taxes
for this."
"Since Georgia is a maritime country,
it must have its own maritime transport, and the development of air transport
is also important. They will contribute to the establishment of international
economic ties; railway transport is of great importance for the state,
therefore, passenger and freight trains, tracks, stations should be
reconstructed."
