CASCA
The foundation of the CASCA+ route was laid in 2019 at the meeting of the leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia in Tashkent. Turkey joined the project in December 2021. The sign "+" in the name indicates the willingness of the association to support the extension of the format.
The name of the international multimodal transit project "CASCA" is connected with the regional names - Central Asia, South Caucasus and Anatolia. The said initiative, which runs across two seas, actually serves the joint goals of the railways of the above-mentioned countries and establishes the multimodality of the route.
In addition, Turkmenistan, as a member country, was not involved in the TRACECA program, and the participation of this country in the CASCA program increased the possibility of increasing cargo turnover in the Caspian, Black and Mediterranean seas.
